A Dare To All Other Grannies

I got up early this morning and took my doggie, Lulu for a walk.

When I logged into facebook, I got a wonderful surprise – my Presidential Director posted a congratulations note on my wall – I got the “award” of Mannatech Enroller of the Week – Wow!! It just goes to show that it always pays to put in just a little bit more effort.
We then had a KLS (Kimberley Listings Services) meeting with all the principals of the different estate agencies in Kimberley and I must admit, it definitely wasn’t one of my favourite things that I did today.

After the meeting, I went to Mugg and Bean for a much needed savoury muffin and bottomless coffee. My husband had the green tea surprise.
Back at my office I also got a tea surprise - the Manna Tea had arrived – yippee!! The Manna Tea is part of a 30 day fats challenge that I organised. Every participant uses Manna Tea for 30 days and the one who loses the most weight wins R2000. We are 19 participants and are having a ball via what's app.

I was also my grandkids taxi today. I picked Chloe and Zanne up from after care and Keagan from Landsdiens (Land Service).

Instead of going to the trim park this evening, I decided to see if I could still skip – I was a serious "skipper" in my younger days :-)

I started skipping next to the swimming pool. It wasn’t long before my husband came outside to see what was going on – he thought I fell into the pool, because of all the noises that was coming from outside.

I managed to skip 250 times, nearly had a heart attack and pretty sure that I will not be able to walk tomorrow, but I am very proud of what I managed to accomplished.

So now this is a dare to all the grannies out there – lets see who can match or beat my record - GO, GRANNIES GO!! :-)

This Granny Can Still Play Rugby

This weekend was an extremely busy weekend in Kimberley - it was the GWRU 130 year’s reunion. All the living GWRU players were here to enjoy the festivities. I think this festivity attracted even more people than the very popular Gariep Festival did in August. Keagan had 2 friends over for the weekend and they wanted to play rugby but needed another player, so I volunteered. His friends thought I was joking and not one of them wanted to be on my side. They voted Matthew to be my partner but after 5 minutes they all wanted to be my partner :-) I could still run, tackle and drop kick and they just could not stop me. After a broken nail and what felt like a cracked rib I left the field, but it felt great to see my 13 year old grandkid looking at me with love and pride and his friends thinking I am a really cool granny. We also came across a photo if Keagan, 9 years ago in stepping Stones pre-primary. I then just realised again how quickly they grow up and that I ha

Sometimes Old People Fart When They Exercise

I got up this morning with a major headache, thinking I will never get through the day, but I had an early show house, so I rushed to make a biltong platter. While at the show house, I remembered that I had another show house at 11am and needed another platter. I managed to make a delicious mini sandwich platter faster than Speedy Gonzales. The tenant at my second show house is Heidi De Wee, a lovely lady that sells beautiful ball gowns and wedding dresses. I promised her that she could make my ball gown when I go to Las Vegas in April next year, for the Mannafest. After my showhouses I took a buyer out to see two properties and only afterwards did I find out that he could actually only buy for half the price of what the properties I showed him was worth – aarrgghh After all this I finally had a chance to go for lunch with my husband at Mugg & Bean. Later this evening I arranged a workout session at our local trim park. Two of my grandkids joined me. Grandkids de

Write Their Name Under Your Shoe

My 2 year old granddaughter, Zanne had her “Grandparents Concert and Tea” today, which we, as her very supportive grandparents supported of course. The event was very enjoyable and really well organized. To my surprise, the principal at Zanne’s school reads my blog posts and asked me to stand up. She told the whole audience about my skipping challenge. Sitting next to me was a beautiful, young granny. I asked her how on earth she could be a granny. She laughed and explained that she is in fact the step-grandmother and that the lady sitting next to the elderly gentleman, sitting next to her husband was the real granny and her husband’s first wife. The lady sitting next to my husband was her stepdaughter and it was her two kiddies that took part in the concert. This young step-granny that was sitting next to me is a pilot who owns her own helicopter. She even showed me some photos. Her story really fascinated me and I realized how many people get divorced and then sp
